Educational Foundation 2021-2022 Grant Award Recipients
Back Row: Brothers Copps, Long, Levy and Manning
Front Row: Brothers Spizman, Bowen and Swerczek
After a bit of a delay in getting a picture of the grant recipients, it is with great pleasure that our Foundation announces the scholarship grants awarded this past November based on the results of the 2021-22 School Year. To-date the Foundation has given $62,000 in scholarship grants, thanks to the generous support of alumni like you.
An important tenet of the Scholarship/Leadership program is the Chapter must succeed as well as the individual, with the Chapter GPA exceeding the All Men’s Average on the Hill. For the 2021-22 School Year, that tenet was met for the Spring 2022 semester, but not for the Fall 2021 semester. Thus the awards granted were based only on the results from the Spring semester. David G. Mackenzie ’61 again provided a special contribution to be paid out for current scholarships if the award requirements were met. Thanks to David for his continued support of the SLP Program. This allowed the Spring 2022 awards to be increased over what the Foundation earnings provided.
After the tabulations under the program, the Spring 2022 Foundation scholarship grants were awarded on November 10, 2022 to:
John Long $4,750
Andrew Swerczek $1,500
Peter Copps $1,500
Jeff Manning $1,250
Sam Levy $1,250
Aidan Bowen $1,250
Adam Spizman $1,250
Congratulations to these brothers who distinguished themselves during the previous school year…and thanks again to all of you who have made contributions to the Educational Foundation in the past to allow these recognitions to be made.
Finally, a little over $13,000 has been contributed to the Robert J. Dole memorial scholarship/leadership fund. Plans are being finalized to begin granting this award for the 2022-2023 school year, with the first award being granted in the Fall of 2023.
Fraternally and Appreciatively,

IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE A GIFT THIS YEAR, please consider doing so. Maintaining our status as a “public” foundation requires receiving a lot of smaller contributions from many alumni. So no contribution is too small and the more alumni who contribute the better. Remember to also consider gifts of securities which may provide additional tax benefits to the donor. Contact us at foundation@gamma-o.org for additional information on gifting securities.
